SKIN CONCERNS
FINE LINES AND WRINKLES
Understanding fine lines and wrinkles, and your options, at our Newstead clinic.
Why fine lines and wrinkles appear
Fine lines and wrinkles are a natural part of how skin changes over time. As we age, skin makes less collagen and elastin, the proteins that keep it firm and springy. Skin also becomes drier and slower to renew.
Several things can make lines more visible:
- Sun exposure over many years
- Smoking
- Genetics and skin type
- Dehydrated or dry skin
- Everyday facial expressions repeated over time
Every face is different, so what suits one person may not suit another. That is why we start with a conversation.
Skin treatments our clients ask about
Our professional skin treatments focus on the quality of your skin, including texture, hydration and tone. Your therapist can tell you which suit your skin and whether they are right for you.
Results vary from person to person. All treatments carry risks, and a consultation is required.
A cosmetic medicine consultation
Our clinic can provide consultations on reducing the appearance of wrinkles. Your complimentary 15-minute consultation is face to face with Sharon, our Registered and Dermal Nurse, who:
- Listens to your goals
- Assesses your skin and face
- Reviews your health history and medications
- Explains your options and the risks in person
There is no obligation to book anything on the day.
Everyday skin care
- Wear sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher every day.
- Cleanse gently and moisturise.
- Ask us about skincare suited to your skin, which we can recommend at your visit.
Not sure where to start? A skin consultation looks at your skin and builds a plan.

Fine lines and wrinkles questions
What is the difference between fine lines and wrinkles?
Fine lines are shallow lines that sit on the surface of the skin. Wrinkles are deeper folds or creases. Both are a normal part of ageing, and your practitioner can look at what you have and talk through your options.
Do you offer treatments for wrinkles?
Our registered nurse provides consultations on reducing the appearance of wrinkles. Your options, and the risks, are discussed face to face. We also offer professional skin treatments for skin quality.
Which consultation should I book?
For a complimentary 15-minute conversation with our registered nurse about cosmetic medicine, book a cosmetic medicine consultation. For professional skin treatments such as needling, peels and facials, book a skin consultation.
Can I get advice without visiting?
A face-to-face consultation is needed before any treatment, so we cannot recommend treatments or give prices by phone or message.
