PRE AND POST CARE

SKIN TREATMENT CARE

How to prepare for your skin treatment, and how to look after your skin afterwards.

Before any skin treatment

  • Come as you are. A full face of makeup is fine, because we cleanse and prepare your skin as part of your appointment.
  • Always tell us what medications you take, even if you don't think they are related.
  • Tell us before treatment about any cuts, broken or open skin, eczema or psoriasis in the area being treated.
  • If you have had any other cosmetic treatments, we prefer 2 weeks between them. Let us know what you have had, because sometimes it does not make a difference.
  • Tell us about allergies, sensitivities, and pregnancy or breastfeeding.
  • Tell us if you have had a cold sore, as some treatments can bring one on.
  • Avoid sun exposure and solariums on the area before your treatment, as advised by your practitioner.
  • Stop retinoids and exfoliating products for the time your practitioner advises.
  • Avoid waxing, hair removal creams and exfoliating treatments on the area for the time your practitioner advises.

After any skin treatment

  • Use SPF 30 or higher every day, and reapply, even on cloudy days.
  • Cleanse gently, and avoid active ingredients (retinoids, acids and exfoliants) until your practitioner says you can restart them.
  • Avoid heat, saunas, hot showers, strenuous exercise and swimming for the time your practitioner advises.
  • Do not pick, scratch or peel your skin.
  • Contact us on 0417 322 366 if something does not feel right.
